A lunar eclipse awaits, the festival of colours is on the way, but nothing deviates from the growing interest in International Women’s Day, unceasingly celebrated by an increasing number of people. It turns into not just a busy day, but a busy women’s week, and an empowering month for me. And what a month it has been.

With Oppenheimer’s success at the Oscars, we want to know everything about actor Cillian Murphy. It reminds me of what I experienced after my film Aashiqui’s success. Such adulation has always evoked gratitude in me. I have the same experience with my TED talks, yoga sessions, and of course, when I share my miraculous story of death-defying reality, of me being alive today.

The International Naturopathy Organization had me as the chief guest talking about my incredibly inspiring journey of self-healing, through natural means. From human microbiome and gut importance to wellness and healthy living, I link it all with the rishis or research scientists, who discovered the seven main chakras in the human body. Did you know that there are over 10 vegetables that beat eggs in protein? Likewise, asanas can do more than just tone your arms. They can activate mental health.

The Ministry of AYUSH had me speaking of something I am passionate about: Transforming Self and Society Through Yoga. I started with a namaste, revealing to the 1,300 viewers the benefits of simply joining hands together and manipulating the energy flow within the body. My story—the unhappiness I ironically experienced as a young and financially independent star—drew sighs.

Then there are the mantras or Sanskrit intonations that connect self to the environment. Why would you want to be connected with your super self, you may ask? Answer: To see the light you are. That connection in a way leads you to realise your dreams; wellness—a by-product—accompanies. You can transcend with the realisation that hansa and the paramhansa are both inside us.

A day later, a leading daily felicitated me: the empowered woman who empowers other women. The Inspiring Women Enclave Awards 2024 was honouring those women who are setting examples, encouraging other women to excel in self-love, and are making a considerable difference. While the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir applauded, the anchor couldn’t help but banter about my supermodel status. Then the India/Asia Football federation had me play football with their team. Joining hands with the adolescent girls tugged at my memory of play basket ball for the state when young. I truly feel—Woman it is your day every day now.
